A Deep Dive into Music & Culture
Sound Sagas is a music-focused podcast and media project dedicated to uncovering the deeper narratives behind the sounds that shape our world. Created by myself and Andrew Rothmund, this project was born out of a passion for music history, cultural impact, and sonic storytelling.
Each episode of Sound Sagas delves into iconic music, underground legends, and forgotten gems, exploring their historical significance, artistic vision, and production techniques. Whether analyzing the evolution of rock, the influence of metal, or the storytelling behind indie records, Sound Sagas offers a fresh perspective on the artistry and innovation behind the music.
Beyond the podcast, the platform also features written deep dives, interviews, and curated playlists/blogs, with the goal of creating a comprehensive hub for music enthusiasts. The project aims to bridge the gap between music journalism, personal discovery, and cultural commentary, making it an essential listen for anyone passionate about the art and impact of sound.
Logo & Brand Design
Logo Development
The design process started with exploring visual elements that symbolize sound, storytelling, and motion. Early concepts included waveforms, vinyl record motifs, and abstract sound waves, all representing the immersive nature of audio and music history. Through refinement, I arrived at a clean yet dynamic logo that conveys motion and rhythm, reinforcing the idea of sonic exploration.
Color Palette & Typography
Choosing the right colors was crucial in setting the tone of the brand. I opted for a simple, high contrast profile—vibrant reds and pinks, off-block and white—inspired by modern meets timeless aesthetics found in some futurist design. This balance of light and dark creates a bold yet inviting aesthetic. The typography follows suit with a mix of modern sans-serif fonts for readability and subtle vintage-inspired typefaces to evoke a sense of classic music culture.
Through this iterative process, Sound Sagas visually reflects the depth, energy, and emotion of music storytelling, aligning seamlessly with the project’s mission to uncover the stories behind the sound.
